Numerous health insurance options are available to younger adults and/or families. Some may want to see whether they qualify for subsidies under the Affordable Care Act (ACA). There are also policies focused on specific needs for dental, vision, or hearing care. We can work together to find plans that fit your needs and your budget.
The Affordable Care Act (ACA) was enacted in 2010 to expand access to comprehensive health care for those who do not get health insurance through their employer or through federal programs like Medicare and Medicaid. A key feature of the program is that people with preexisting conditions cannot be denied coverage or charged more for their health insurance. The Essential Benefits coverage includes maternity and newborn care, mental health and substance abuse services, emergency care and hospitalization, preventive and wellness services, labs and prescription drugs, and pediatric services.
Who might want insurance through the ACA Marketplace/Exchange?
Young adults over 26 who no longer qualify for their parents' insurance.
Adults with no insurance through their employer.
People who are uninsured due to preexisting conditions or to limited finances.
Those who have recently lost Medicaid and need health care insurance.
Annual Open Enrollment for the Affordable Care Act Marketplace is November 1st through January 15th. After annual enrollment is over, you can still get health insurance through the Marketplace in these situations:
if you qualify for a Special Enrollment Period due to a life event like losing other health coverage; getting married or divorced; having a baby/adopting a child; moving; changing your household income; becoming a US citizen; leaving incarceration; becoming a member of a federally recognized tribe or ANSCA shareholder; or starting or ending service as an Americorps, NCCC, or Vista member.
if you qualify for Medicaid or the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP). You can apply for these programs any time. You can also apply if you've recently lost Medicaid or CHIP.

Separate dental and/or vision plans are available from private companies for those who have Original Medicare or other non-Medicare individual or group policies that don't include those benefits (you cannot apply for a separate policy if you have Medicare Advantage). Often the benefits are bundled together, with some policies including coverage specifically for children (e.g., flouride treatments, orthodontia).
You can add a dental/vision policy at any time during the year. Click the button below to complete the form and I will call to get started on a plan for you.
